Is Bovada legit and safe?

Bovada is a long-running offshore brand serving US players, and it publishes its bonus rules, crypto limits and payout times in full. It says it is licensed and regulated by the Union of the Comoros and the Central Reserve Authority of Western Sahara. No US state regulator oversees it, so there is no US body to take a complaint to.

Two points from its terms of service matter before you sign up:

• Minimum age: Bovada’s own minimum is 18. Our site is for adults 21 and over, and we recommend 21 as the floor everywhere.
• Restricted states: use of the site is prohibited from 20 states and DC. An account accessed from one of them has its access revoked, and its balance may be treated as void.

That second rule is strict: the terms say the balance may be voided, not just frozen. Never play from a restricted state, and never use a VPN to hide where you are.

Which states can play at Bovada?

Bovada accepts players from most US states but prohibits use from 20 states plus Washington, DC. Its list is much longer than Ignition’s five, and it includes big markets like Pennsylvania, Michigan, New Jersey and Ohio. If you live in any of these, choose a different casino from our list.

What is the Bovada casino welcome bonus?

Bovada gives new players a welcome bonus on their first three casino deposits. With crypto, each deposit gets a 125% match up to $1,250, for up to $3,750 in total. The standard version pays 100% up to $1,000 per deposit, for up to $3,000. Each needs a bonus code entered at the deposit.

The rules that decide what it is worth:

• Wagering is on deposit plus bonus. The crypto first deposit needs 25x. The next two crypto deposits need 50x, twice as much.
• Craps and live dealer games do not count toward wagering, and crypto bonus funds cannot be used on live dealer tables at all.
• Only play after you redeem the code counts. Enter the code first.
• The reloads unlock in order. The 2nd and 3rd deposit bonuses are only available after you use the first one.

Is the Bovada bonus worth taking?

The first crypto deposit bonus is worth taking if you plan to play regularly. The second and third are much harder to clear at 50x, and most players will be better off skipping them. Here is the maths on a $100 first crypto deposit.

On the first deposit, the expected loss roughly equals your starting balance, so the bonus mainly buys a long session. On the second and third, the expected loss is double the balance. On average you would lose the whole lot before clearing it.

How fast does Bovada pay out?

Once a crypto withdrawal is approved, Bovada says Bitcoin arrives within 24 hours and Litecoin, Ethereum, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and USDT within about 1 hour. Bovada does not charge its own fees on crypto withdrawals. Your first payout will be slower, because of ID checks before approval.

Rules on its help pages worth knowing:

1. One crypto withdrawal every 15 minutes. Big amounts go out in several requests.
2. All deposits must be wagered once before winnings can be withdrawn, or the withdrawal may be cancelled.
3. Crypto deposits must confirm on the blockchain before Bovada will process a withdrawal.
4. Use a new wallet address for each withdrawal, as its help page instructs.

For speed and low fees, Litecoin is the best choice at Bovada. For big single withdrawals, Bitcoin allows more per request.

What are Bovada’s withdrawal limits?

Bovada’s limits depend on the coin. Bitcoin and Bitcoin SV allow up to $9,500 per request, and Bitcoin Lightning up to $10,000. Litecoin, Ethereum, USDT and Bitcoin Cash stop at $2,500 per request. Litecoin has the highest weekly limit at $180,000.

Bovada notes that maximums can differ per account. Two differences from Ignition stand out. Bovada’s Bitcoin minimum is lower, at $75 against $100. But its Litecoin maximum per request is lower too, at $2,500 against $9,500.

Network fees are charged by your wallet or exchange, not Bovada. Its help page says they are usually under $1, and that Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV and Litecoin tend to cost less than Bitcoin and USDT.

Which deposit methods does Bovada accept?

Bovada takes seven cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Lightning, Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin SV, Litecoin, Ethereum and USDT. Most crypto deposits are capped at $5,000 each, and Bitcoin Lightning at $10,000. The minimums are small coin amounts, such as 0.0001 BTC or 5 USDT.

Deposits need one blockchain confirmation to post, and up to six if the network is busy. A low network fee in your wallet can slow things down. For Ethereum, Bovada’s help centre has a separate guide on using the ERC-20 network, so read it before you send ETH or USDT.

Bovada converts crypto into a dollar-style balance for play. Its wallet notes list 1 BTC as 1,000 slot chips, so check the cashier to see how your deposit is shown.
